A Fido customer posted on social media that they received a notice from the carrier notifying them of a $5 (plus taxes) monthly fee increase starting with their next bill, on or after December 2.
This price increase may not apply to all customers. However, some Fido customers received a $5 price increase in June, while some users shared that they were receiving monthly bill increases. It seems likely that if you received that $5 price increase in June, you’re not going to be affected by this bill increase — hopefully.
They are increasing the rates again??

The Fido customer also mentioned that they already received a $3 per month price hike. We noted back in March that some Rogers, Fido mobile users getting a $3 per month price hike in April.
MobileSyrup reached out to Rogers, which owns Fido, to learn more about the increase. In our experience, all carriers raise prices from time to time, and it’s extremely rare to find plans without fine print allowing the carriers to raise prices over time.
That said, if you’re getting hit with the price increase, the best thing you can do is switch providers. There are plenty of wireless providers offering competitive rates, like Freedom Mobile or Public Mobile. Alternatively, you can wait for Black Friday deals, which are likely coming later this month.
