Filth is Eternal have released their new album, Impossible World, which includes a feature with Fall Out Boy’s Joe Trohman on “So Below.” The song, punctuated by a guitar solo from Trohman, thrashes against vocalist Lis Di Angeloa as she repeats “As above, so below, we’ll be here when you call.”
Impossible World was created as a reaction to rapid gentrification, uncontrolled technological growth, and the rise of authoritarianism. Rather than becoming hopeless, the band confront difficult questions about survival, humanity, and resistance in a world shaped by outside forces. Other collaborations on Impossible World include Blood Brothers’ Johnny Whitney and Baroness’ Gina Gleason.

“I think the biggest changes from LP1 to now is that we’ve upped the intention by using more melody, harmony, and singing in general,” DiAngelo says about Impossible World. “We’re working with aggression, but moving toward something beautiful and true.”
Next month, Filth is Eternal will play a handful of shows across the West Coast with Negative Blast and Gottlieb, with more dates to come.
