Amazon Prime Video has released the trailer for Balls Up, an action comedy by filmmaker Peter Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, There’s Something about Mary), starring Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser.
The additional cast includes Benjamin Bratt, Eva De Dominici, Daniela Melchior, with Molly Shannon, Sacha Baron Cohen and Eric André. The film is written by Deadpool scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Andrew Muscato, Wernick and Reese serve as producers on the film.
Wahlberg has just stepped out of the action comedy film The Family Plan 2 by filmmaker Simon Cellan Jones, a sequel to the 2023 film. He also has just featured in Play Dirty, a heist action-thriller written and directed by Shane Black, based on the Parker novel series by author Donald E. Westlake, under the pen name Richard Stark.
Wahlberg is also scheduled to feature in Elegance Bratton’s upcoming historical crime-thriller By Any Means, alongside Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Beharie, Giancarlo Esposito, Josh Lucas, David Strathairn, Ethan Embry, LisaGay Hamilton, and LaChanze.
Hauser has recently featured in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, a biographical musical focused on the acclaimed singer and guitarist Bruce Springsteen, by filmmaker Scott Cooper. The film drew from Warren Zanes’s 2023 book of the same name. The actor is also due to play a role in the video game adaptation Resident Evil, set to be directed by successful horror filmmaker Zach Cregger (Barbarian, Weapons)
Synopsis:
“In this raunchy, over-the-top comedy, marketing executives Brad and Elijah go ‘balls out’ and pitch a bold full‑coverage condom sponsorship with the World Cup… After their drunken celebration in Brazil sparks a global scandal, they must outrun furious fans, criminals, and power-hungry officials to salvage their careers and make it home alive.”
Balls Up streams on Prime Video from April 15th.
