If you missed Freedom’s “Best Deal Ever” last weekend, don’t worry — the carrier is giving you another shot at it this weekend.

Freedom relaunched its $40/250GB 5G CAN/US/MEX plan on March 13, with the carrier’s website noting the plan will only stick around until March 16. Of course, it’s always possible Freedom could bring the offer back a third time, but I wouldn’t risk it if you want to get this plan.

Interestingly, Freedom’s website also says “the sale price changes to $50/mo on March 17,” suggesting the discounted plan will stick around but at $50/250GB instead. Still, if you’re interested, you might as well nab the $40 version now.

As a quick refresher, the plan is typically $80/mo, but Freedom is currently offering a $40/mo credit for bring-your-own-phone (BYOP) customers. Here’s what the plan entails:

    • $40/mo (with Digital Discount and $40/mo ongoing BYOP credit).
    • 250GB of 5G+ data (theoretical peak download speeds of up to 900Mbps in some areas).
    • Calling, texting, and data in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
    • 50GB of monthly Roam Beyond data in 120+ destinations.
    • Unlimited talk and text in 120+ destinations.

Freedom Mobile $40/250GB plan as of March 13, 2026.

Looking at the fine print for the deal, Freedom will apply the credit starting on the first month of service, and will continue to apply the credit monthly “as long as you remain active on an eligible plan as a bring your own phone customer.” You won’t be able to upgrade your phone or change your plan (though, why would you want to do that with this deal?), but otherwise, you should be able to keep this plan as long as you want, which makes it very enticing.

Ultimately, the $40/250GB is one of the best deals available in the Canadian wireless market. There is nothing remotely close in terms of price or roaming. Just to illustrate, Public Mobile currently has a $40/100GB CAN/US/MEX plan, flanker brands like Fido, Virgin, and Koodo have a $55/100GB Canada-wide plan, and the Big Three charge $85 for 250GB plan with various roaming options (for example, Telus’ $85/250GB includes data, talk, and text in 68 destinations).
