A Freedom Mobile customer in B.C. received a surprisingly high wireless bill claiming they owed the carrier nearly $1 million.
The customer shared the bill on Reddit, which showed they owed $926,860. Redditor u/Hairy-Rice7451 didn’t say much more about the bill, whether it was resolved or what happened, but noted that they are in Vancouver.
I knew phone bills where expensive in Vancouver but…

Luckily, u/Hairy-Rice7451 doesn’t seem distressed, instead taking the opportunity to crack jokes about it. Seeing a bill like this can be scary, but it’s definitely a mistake, and they happen even with bigger companies.
Recently, a Bell customer received an erroneous bill for $1.6 million, and his number was deactivated. It’s unclear if Freedom deactivated this customer’s number, but it seems unlikely, as it wasn’t mentioned. We’ve reached out to Freedom to see if it can explain what happened here.
Whatever the cause, here’s hoping it’s resolved quickly and easily.
