Freedom Mobile’s Boxing Week offers just got even better, with the company knocking $9/mo off the price of several plans for customers who bring their own phones (BYOP).
Per an update to Freedom’s website, the provider is now offering the following plans:
- $34/10GB 5G Canada/U.S./Mexico with 1GB one-time Roam Beyond (unchanged).
- $39/70GB 5G Canada/U.S./Mexico with 10GB one-time Roam Beyond (unchanged).
- $40/100GB 5G Canada/U.S./Mexico with 15GB Roam Beyond (regular $49).
- $50/150GB 5G Canada/U.S./Mexico with 25GB Roam Beyond (regular $59).
- $60/200GB 5G Canada/U.S./Mexico with 30GB Roam Beyond (regular $69).
- $70/250GB 5G Canada/U.S./Mexico with 35GB Roam Beyond (regular $79).
Freedom Mobile BYOP plans as of Dec. 22, 2025.
The discount involves a $9/mo BYOP ongoing credit, though it’s worth noting there are some stipulations that could result in the credit being removed. Per Freedom’s fine print, customers must activate a new line on or migrate to an eligible BYOP plan to get the credit. Freedom says the credit will stick around “as long as you remain active on an eligible plan as a bring your own phone customer,” but if customers change their plan or get a phone from Freedom, the credit will drop off.
Overall, the new Freedom plans are really solid in my eyes. The carrier already had some of the better value options, but the BYOP credit makes them even better. Public Mobile is the only provider with plans that come close, with the likes of Koodo, Fido, and Virgin Plus offering $40/50GB plans. And if you want a 100GB plan from one of the Big Three, you’re looking at around $75/mo.
My advice, as always, is to go the BYOP route and, if you need a phone, buy it outright. It’ll be cheaper in the long run in most cases, especially when you can get a $40/100GB plan from Freedom. And it’s even better when you can get the outright phone on sale — for example, like the discounted Pixel phones.
