Arnaud Gaudet of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec won a World Cup bronze medal in a men’s parallel giant slalom snowboarding competition in Krynica, Poland on Saturday.
Gaudet finished behind gold medalist Maurizio Bormolini of Italy and silver medalist Sangho Lee of South Korea. In the small final, Gaudet beat fourth place finisher Tim Mastnak of Slovenia by 0.62 seconds.
In the first elimination heat, Gaudet beat Andreas Prommegger of Austria by a tenth of a second. Then in the first quarterfinal heat, Gaudet beat Mirko Felicetti of Italy by 0.61 seconds. Then the first semifinal heat saw Gaudet lose to Bormolini by 0.58 seconds.
This was Gaudet’s second career World Cup medal. The first also came during the 2025-26 International Ski Federation season. Gaudet was second behind Benjamin Karl of Austria at a World Cup men’s parallel giant slalom race in Bansko, Bulgaria on January 17.
In the World Cup men’s parallel giant slalom standings, Gaudet is in 13th place with 250 points. Bormolini leads with 588 points.
There are two more World Cup men’s parallel giant slalom races this season. Both are in Val St. Come, Quebec. The first will be on March 14 and the second will be on March 15. The bronze medal for Gaudet in Poland will give him confidence as he prepares for the 2030 Olympic Winter Games in the French Alps.
