Netflix has released a brand-new trailer for their upcoming dramedy JAY KELLY, which you can watch below!
JAY KELLY, the new film from Academy Award nominee Noah Baumbach, follows famous movie actor, Jay Kelly (George Clooney), as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery, confronting both his past and present, accompanied by his devoted manager Ron (Adam Sandler). Poignant and humour-filled, epic and intimate, JAY KELLY is pitched at the intersection of life’s regrets and notable glories.
Co-starring Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Grace Edwards, Stacy Keach, Patrick Wilson, Eve Hewson, Greta Gerwig, Alba Rohrwacher, Josh Hamilton, Lenny Henry, Emily Mortimer, Nicôle Lecky, Thaddea Graham, Isla Fisher, Louis Partridge, Charlie Rowe and Jim Broadbent, the film is co-written by Baumbach and Emily Mortimer.
“This is a story of him having to come to terms with other parts of his life besides the part that he’s been very successful at… He’s coming to terms with the idea that maybe he hasn’t been such a great friend or father. He has just been really good at being a movie star.” Clooney told TUDUM.
“I know many Ron’s,” Sandler tells Netflix. “I’ve met a lot of nice people along the way who have helped me, thought of me, and put stuff aside in their lives to make sure that mine was going smoothly when I needed them.”
“This character has a lot more regrets than I would have, because, luckily for me, fame came much later in my life,” Clooney adds, who was 33 when he landed his breakout role on ER. “I got to figure out how to live life before I figured out how to be famous, and I don’t think this character did.”
Jay Kelly hits select cinemas on November 14th and Netflix from December 5th.
