An unlicensed Georgia daycare owner’s pups murdered a two-year-old boy while he was in her care. This was a tragic accident that could have been prevented, but what went wrong? Moreover, what is the punishment for such an act? Keep reading for more details on this horrid incident.
Unlicensed Georgia Daycare Owner’s Dogs Murder Toddler
Daycares and nursery schools are increasingly under fire for poor behavior. Those whom they employ can be negligent and unqualified, leading to abuse and even death. Such was the case in Valdosta, Georgia, where Stacy Wheeler Cobb ran an unlicensed daycare. One of her patrons was two-year-old Kaimir Jones, and his family likely felt that he was in good hands. That was not what happened on Saturday, October 4th, 2025. Stacy opted to take a nap, which is already a daycare violation. She was running the operation out of her house and felt that Kaimir was just fine.
While Stacy was asleep for roughly two hours, Kaimir was able to get up and go to the area where she kept her rottweilers. He proceeded to open the cages and let the pups out, which led to a very dangerous incident. Authorities were soon called to Stacy’s home, but Kaimir had already passed amid a dog attack. Per Chief Leslie Manahan, this was clearly an avoidable situation:
“This is a horrible and tragic event that should have never occurred, but because of negligence on this offender’s behalf, a mother has tragically lost a child. I want to express our department’s deepest sympathy to the family.
The chief went on to add that nothing could ever replace or bring back Kaimir. Furthermore, those who were on the scene to witness his death have forever been traumatized.

Although Kaimir was the only child at the Georgia home daycare, a typical day has roughly ten kids in Stacy’s care. Stacy was arrested and has currently been charged with murder in the 2nd degree and 2nd degree cruelty to children, but there will likely be more charges coming.
A Dog’s Life
Stacy Wheeler Cobb is facing serious charges that will continue to mount, but what about her dogs? They have been taken into custody by animal control, with three rottweilers being held. Kaimir’s mother, Adrianna, set up a GoFundMe to assist with his memorial. Her current goal is $35K and she has already raised over $26K, as she stated that she did not have life insurance for Kaimir. Those who have followed the tragedy are heartbroken for Kaimi’s family and have sent prayers:
- Prayers, peace, comfort for the Mother/Family of that baby boy. Justice for the senseless loss of life. Hope for something better
- So sad, and avoidable! Do not let your child be watched by any household with large breeds of dog that have a propensity of violence, period!
Some believed that the dogs should be euthanized for what they did, but that will be the Georgia animal control’s decision.
