If you’ve been waiting to get into the world of handheld gaming PCs, this might be a good time to do it.
From now until October 6, you can get the Steam Deck LCD for $399.20, a 20 per cent reduction from its regular $499.99 price tag. This is the least expensive Steam Deck with a 7″ 1280 x 800 LCD display and 256GB of storage. The other Steam Deck models, the 512GB OLED and 1TB OLED, are still at their regular prices of $689 and $819, respectively.
Still, this is a great price for an entry-level handheld gaming PC, especially as the more premium options cost at least a few hundred dollars more. Notably, this discount even makes the Steam Deck cheaper than the original Nintendo Switch, which recently went up in price to $419.99. This is even wilder when you consider that the Switch debuted in 2017, five years before the Steam Deck.
You can order the Steam Deck from Steam directly.
The Steam Deck sale will coincide with Steam’s annual Autumn Sale, which kicks off on September 29. Expect lots of solid game deals from that one.
