Golden Bachelorette Future In Doubt
The Bachelor franchise has been handing out roses since 2002. The franchise has been in jeopardy over the last several years amid falling ratings. But just when fans think the end is near, ABC renewed The Bachelor and The Bachelorette for more.
The Golden Bachelor was a hit when it premiered in 2023. Viewers loved the wholesome senior women forming friendships while also trying to make a love connection with Gerry Turner. Joan Vassos wasn’t given the full experience on the show because she quit early to deal with a family matter.
ABC brought her back as the lead for the Golden Bachelorette spinoff. But now the future of the senior spinoffs is in jeopardy. Mel Owens was cast as the Season 2 Golden Bachelor, but viewers aren’t connecting with him. The ratings are way down, leaving fans questioning if both The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette are over.
Fans Want This Golden Bachelor Star To Get Another Chance At Love
Mel Owens is getting closer to handing out his final rose. He narrowed his contestants down to three. His final three are Peg Munson, Debbie Siebers, and Cindy Cullers. The women will take Mel home to meet their families in the next episode.
If all goes well, the three women will move on to the Fantasy Suite dates. They recently shared their thoughts about spending the night alone with Mel. Even if Peg, Debbie, and Cindy make it to the overnight dates, only one can be the winner.
The second and third-place runners-up have the strongest chance of being the next Golden Bachelorette. But is one better suited for the role than the other?
Bachelor Nation fans weighed in on who they think should be the next Golden Bachelorette. There were votes for each of the final three, but Peg Munson got the most votes.
The retired firefighter from Las Vegas, Nevada, is a proud single mother with a storied past. In addition to fighting fires, Peg was a bomb tech and on the senior dance team for the Las Vegas Aces WNBA team.
But if Mel picks Peg, fans are fine with either Cindy or Debbie as the next Golden Bachelorette. Or maybe even a contestant from Gerry Turner’s season, like Kathy Swarts or Faith Martin.
But there is one person fans absolutely do not want to see as The Golden Bachelorette or any other Bachelor Nation shows. Nicolle Kate Briscoe angered viewers by admitting that she was only on The Golden Bachelor for fame. She hoped to use the reality show as a jumping board to becoming a social media influencer.
