Google Photos is finally debuting on TVs soon, but only on Samsung TVs for now.
According to a press release, the Korean tech giant is working to bring Google Photos to its line of TVs, letting users enjoy their photos and videos natively on the big screen. Users will also be able to explore curated memories on their TV, organized by people, places, and meaningful moments.
Samsung also says that Google Photos will expand the suite of photo-driven experiences that integrate with Samsung’s Visual AI Companion (VAC), which the company states is “enriching how memories are highlighted and enjoyed throughout the day.”
According to the press release, Samsung has identified three ways that Google Photos will be coming to its TVs:
- Memories (planned launch in March 2026): Shows curated stories about people, locations, and meaningful moments, and will be exclusively on Samsung TVs for the first six months.
- Create with AI (planned launch in the second half of 2026): Introduces themed templates based on Google DeepMind’s image-generation and editing model, Nano Banana. Users can also use the recently released Remix to transform an image’s art style, or use Photo to Video to turn pictures into short videos.
- Personalized Results (planned launch in the second half of 2026): Users can view related photos as a slideshow based on topics or the contents of memories.
As Android Authority mentioned, this press release comes directly from Samsung and doesn’t discuss the Samsung experience on other TVs. However, Samsung mentioned a timed exclusivity for the Memory feature, suggesting it will be introduced on different platforms. It is also not immediately apparent whether this is a native Google Photos app on Samsung TVs or if this is merging the experience into the TV platform.
