The 2026 Grammy Awards are happening today (Feb. 1), hosted by Trevor Noah at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Here at AP, we’ve got our eyes locked on the rock, alternative, and metal categories, which are packed with deserving names. AP’s 2025 Artist of the Year Hayley Williams is up for four awards: Best Rock Song, Best Rock Performance, Best Alternative Music Performance, and Best Alternative Music Album. Turnstile received five nods for NEVER ENOUGH, scattered across the rock and alternative columns, whereas Deftones are nominated for Best Rock Album, on the strength of 2025’s private music. Our former cover stars the Marías are in the running for Best New Artist, having recently blown up for their Submarine cut “No One Noticed.” Later on, there’ll be a tribute performance for Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away just weeks after playing a farewell show last summer.
