If you want to save some money on your wireless plan, you might want to move quickly. Canadian carriers have started removing their Boxing Week deals, which means you likely only have a few more days to take advantage of deals before they’re gone.
Let’s start with a quick look at the Big Three providers, Bell, Rogers, and Telus. None of the Big Three offered significant deals on wireless plans during the Boxing Week period, with only Rogers offering a 25GB data bonus on select plans. So, nothing has really changed with wireless plans here other than the removal of the 25GB bonus.
The Big Three did offer some ‘deals’ on smartphones, some of which are still ongoing (such as the $0/mo financing Galaxy S25 at Rogers and Telus), but generally, most of these offers still aren’t great when you break down the pricing.
The phone itself might be “free,” but customers are required to return the phone or pay a fee to keep it after the contract ends, and generally, the deals are tied to expensive plans that run you as much as $115/mo (about $2,760 over two years). Most people would be better off buying an S25 outright for $1,198.99 and then grabbing a bring your own phone (BYOP) plan. For example, a $50/mo BYOP plan and an outright S25 would cost $2,399 over two years, saving you over $300 compared to the other “deal.” So, I wouldn’t recommend anyone go for these offers, no matter how long they stick around.
The deals that are still on (for now)
Speaking of BYOP plans, there are still some excellent deals available at other wireless providers. Telus-owned Koodo remains notable with the following plan options, unchanged from Boxing Week (so far):
- $40/60GB 5G CAN/U.S./MEX.
- $45/70GB 5G Canada-wide.
- $75/100GB 5G Canada-wide.
Koodo plans as of Jan. 7, 2026.
Koodo notes these are limited-time promotions, but doesn’t list an end date. However, I expect they’ll go away soon; the other Big Three flanker brands, Bell’s Virgin Plus and Rogers’ Fido, have already adjusted their respective plan prices, ending Boxing Week deals. Instead, they’re offering plans like $45/10GB, $50/40GB, and $55/60GB — not quite as good.
- Virgin plans as of Jan. 7, 2026.
- KFido plans as of Jan. 7, 2026.
Meanwhile, Freedom Mobile still has all of its excellent Boxing Week plans, including $39/70GB, $40/100GB, $50/150GB and more plans with 5G and Canada/U.S./Mexico usage. Most plans include additional roaming services through Freedom’s Roam Beyond, making the plans ideal for anyone who travels frequently.
Freedom plans as of Jan. 7, 2026.
Telus-owned Public Mobile continues to offer similar plans to Freedom with $40/100GB and $50/150GB Canada/U.S./Mexico options.
Public plans as of Jan. 7, 2026.
Freedom’s plans are listed as limited-time Boxing Week offers, but with no clear end date. Public doesn’t list an end date either, but it has closely matched Freedom’s pricing, so I suspect that when Freedom ends its deals, Public will change its plans too.
