The start of Easter in Spain is just two weeks away. For anyone planning on travelling here during the holidays, here’s what you need to know about how much it will cost you.

Thinking about visiting Spain this Easter or looking to get away and travel around the country? This is how much you can expect to spend this year during Semana Santa (Holy Week) in 2026.

This year, Semana Santa in Spain runs from March 29th to April 6th. These will be the most expensive dates when it comes to travel and accommodation.

Easter Monday, April 6th, is also a public holiday in the Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Navarre, the Basque Country, La Rioja, and Valencia, so expect prices to be higher in these destinations on this day too.

Spain continues to be one of the most attractive destinations for international tourists this Easter. According to travel platform KAYAK, those from Denmark, Germany, and Austria are showing the greatest interest in travelling to Spain at this time of year.

Among Spaniards, the average expected expenditure on a Semana Santa break in Spain this year is €856, according to the latest report on “Spending Intentions for Easter,” prepared by the Cetelem Observatory.

Spaniards aged between 35-39 will spend the most on travelling this Easter, with an average budget of €1,193, 39 percent above the national average.

Accommodation will account for the largest share of the budget, averaging €376, while transportation will represent an average cost of €172.

The good news is that according to KAYAK, flying this Easter will be cheaper than last year, specifically nine percent cheaper to domestic destinations within Spain.

Rural tourism expected to be popular this Easter with 40 percent choosing somewhere away from the cities, although this closely followed by beach tourism, with 37 percent.

In Spain, Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the most searched for Easter destination on Kayak, with average flight prices of €245.

And on booking platform Atrápalo, Benidorm and the Costa Daurada also two of the most popular resorts.

As for non-coastal destinations, Madrid is the most requested city for these dates (2.38 percent), followed by Seville (1.72 percent).

The price per night in the capital this year is €233.71, while in Seville it’s €161.74.

For those planning on heading to Seville, one of the best destinations to see the Easter celebrations, for the entire week of Easter, the lowest available price is around €900 in total for a seven-night stay.

If you’re planning on visiting Catalonia this Easter, it’s also worth noting that from April 1st, the region will introduce a new tourist tax, which will also make your break more expensive.

In Barcelona city, those staying five-star hotels and luxury campsites will pay €7 per night; those in four-star hotels will pay €3.40; those in tourist apartments will pay €4.50; and those in other campsites and establishments will pay €2.

In the rest of Catalonia, rates will be €6 for five-star hotels and luxury campsites; €2.40 for four-star hotels; €2 for tourist apartments; €1.20 for all other accommodation.

The new increase will be in effect in Barcelona from April 1st, while in the rest of the region, the increase will be progressive – 50 percent from April 1st 2026 and double the amount from April 1st, 2027.
