After the pandemic I noticed more of our guests telling me they were planning to move to Barcelona. Some for a definite period (completing a company project at their local branch, studying…) some long term either because they are digital nomads or because they are planning to retire here. And of course, they asked me about what areas are best to live, what is the price range… As a tour guide, I can of course give them general advice. But sooner or later they’ll need professional help. So I decided to write this post to help them out finding the best choice for them.
Finding a home in Barcelona can be an exciting step, whether you’re planning a semester abroad, settling in for a mid-term remote-work stay or considering buying property in the city. But once the initial enthusiasm fades, most newcomers quickly realize that the local housing market works differently from what they’re used to. Contract types vary, neighborhoods have distinct personalities and listings move quickly. That’s why choosing a good real estate agency becomes one of the most important decisions you’ll make.
