Howard Stern is spilling the tea to clear whispers of his show’s cancellation.

After the internet raved with speculations that the show’s contract with SiriusXM had been terminated, the media personality is finally addressing the rumors. He reveals a bright side to things, making his period of silence worth it and giving fans a clear vision of what the future holds for the show.

“The Howard Stern Show” has aired for decades now and has gained a good following among the public. Recently, the show and its host have taken a few hits, creating fear in the minds of fans that the end is near.

Stern has announced that the cancellation rumors are nothing but rumors when he revealed the status of his contract with SiriusXM. He told his listeners on Tuesday morning that for the next three years, it’s going to be business as usual as he signed a contract with the company to continue.

“I am happy to announce that I have figured out a way to have it all, more free time, and continue to be on the radio. Yes, we are coming back for three years,” he said. Then expressed how happy he was for more free time outside of the studio.

The media personality also spoke on the effects his age is having on him. He admitted that, despite his love for being on the radio and being this old, he should not be working actively, but some people work for him and would lose their jobs if he quit.

Page Six shared that Stern was confident that the news of his contract renewal was coming only directly from him. He said there were no leaks because even he did not know for sure until the weekend.

As Stern’s recent contract with SiriusXM came to an end, reports showed that the future of the “Howard Stern” show was in peril. It was revealed that the media company allegedly intended to force him out by making him an offer he would definitely refuse.

“Stern’s contract is up in the fall, and while Sirius is planning to make him an offer, they don’t intend for him to take it.” It was also argued that both parties would not be able to come to an agreement on the monetary aspects.

Another point of view was that the political climate was hot due to Stern’s political stance. He had become a hard-line Democrat and had cut ties with President Donald Trump. This alone was assumed to be a reason why he would not get a good offer from SiriusXM.

A few months ago, while the cancellation chatter was getting widespread, Stern pulled a stunt that left fans shocked. The show kicked off with a different but familiar voice, that of Andy Cohen.

“This is not the voice that you probably wanted to hear, but it is I, Andy Cohen, and this is our first day broadcasting on Andy 100,” he said.

Cohen played his part well, convincing the listeners that he had taken over the show. He claimed there was meant to be a proper hand-off, but everything happened faster than their expectations, so he had to take on the role quickly.

According to The Blast, several listeners got upset, which made Stern and his friend Robin Quivers pull the plug on the prank, revealing it was just a joke. Other reports also showed that Stern and his team were behind the rumors about his job being in jeopardy as a move to make Stern relevant again.

Chaos grew within his team as they panicked over losing their source of income. Their concern grew as the uncertainty of the status of the radio show swelled. The majority of the show’s employees have families to support and kids to take care of, hence their fear that their primary source of income would be cut.

Before the recent drama, there had been threats of potential layoffs on their mind for a while, which added to the intense pressure they felt. Amid all this, The Blast shared that the show’s employees all signed a non-disclosure agreement.

This refrained them from talking about the company. Stern allegedly has a habit of firing people on a whim, so this added extra worry. They were also concerned that even a minor slip or voicing a complaint could get them instantly fired if it got out.

When news of his rocky stance with SiriusXM broke out, Stern was displeased that his private dealings were out in the open. He made active moves to track down the mole within his team by involving an expert.

The Blast’s previous reports showed that Stern deployed the skills of his producer, Memet Walker, a former U.S Air Force Airman trained in interrogation tactics, to assist him in his quest. His goal was to ensure that there were no more leaks from his circle.

His executive producer, Gary Dell’Abate, also disclosed that a staff member was spilling exclusive information, citing a talk from a team-building gathering at a Spin ping-pong bar in Manhattan.
