Hunter impregnated Bella when he was only 12 years old, and she was only 14. The show even made a scene about Hunter going to the batting cages to meet up with his dad. They made it seem like Casey did not show up because he was doing a barbecue with his “other family”. However, it seems to be different than what is shown.

Hunter Johnson’s stepmother, Brettney, has revealed the truth behind it all. She has revealed that Casey did not abandon Hunter and, in fact, was fighting for custody the entire time. Casey was only trying to make it so Hunter could not be on the show.
“We had to fight in court just to see him without cameras being shoved in our face. We have an 8-year-old daughter that we would rather not glorify teen pregnancy with. My husband never missed a child support payment even when the whole family lived with us. We have always tried our best to do right by Hunter.”
She claimed that the only reason Casey did not meet Hunter at the batting cages was that he did not want to be filmed. However, he told Hunter this the night before, and does not understand why they showed up. Hunter is also living with Casey part-time now and seems to be enjoying it.
