Sneh Rana achieved a significant milestone in her career by taking her 50th WODI wicket during the 3rd ODI between India Women and Australia Women at Delhi. Rana’s 50th wicket came in the 21.1 over when she dismissed Georgia Voll, who was having a brilliant innings of 81 off 68 balls.

Rana’s delivery, a half-tracker down the leg side, forced Voll to swipe across the line. Voll, off balance and losing her shape, top-edged the shot to short fine leg where substitute fielder Uma Chetry made no mistake, settling under the skier to take a safe catch. This wicket provided India with a glimmer of hope, breaking the 107-run partnership between Voll and Ellyse Perry. Rana’s celebration after the wicket was emotional, marking her half-century of wickets in the format. The significance of this wicket was evident as Rana, a key player for India, had battled hard to get a breakthrough after Australia had dominated the proceedings.

Following the wicket, Rana’s celebration was one of pure elation. She looked towards the Indian dugout with raised arms, acknowledging her landmark achievement. The emotions were palpable, but so was the tension between the two teams. With the dismissal of Voll, the game had shifted ever so slightly in India’s favor, but Australia’s deep batting line-up still posed a significant threat. Voll’s departure, however, was a sign that India had fought hard to get back into the match.

Australia continue to dominate as Beth Mooney and Ellyse Perry hammers India in 3rd ODI

In the ongoing 3rd ODI between Australia Women and India Women at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Australia has set an imposing total of 269/3 after 35 overs. Electing to bat first, Australia faced early setbacks, losing captain Alyssa Healy for 30 and Georgia Voll for a brilliant 81 off 68 balls, thanks to a stunning catch from India’s substitute fielder U Chetry and a breakthrough by Sneh Rana.

Ellyse Perry, who struck a composed 68 from 72 balls, built a crucial partnership with Beth Mooney, who’s unbeaten on 80 from just 49 balls, leading the Australian charge. With a current run rate of 7.68 and 15 overs remaining, the Australian women seem well poised to push past 300. The Indian bowlers, including Kranti Goud and Renuka Singh, have had their moments but have struggled to contain the Australian batting power in the latter half of the innings. India’s hopes now rest on a sharp bowling performance in the remaining overs to halt Australia’s dominance and restrict them from posting a mammoth total. As things stand, it appears the visitors are firmly in control.
