Inter Miami have announced the signing of left-back Sergio Reguilon on a free transfer.
Reguilon has represented the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid but has been without a club since his release from Spurs at the end of the 2024-25 season.
The Spain international, 28, has signed a deal with the newly-crowned MLS Cup champions until December 2027, joining up with Argentina superstar Lionel Messi.
He will come in as a direct replacement for Jordi Alba, who alongside fellow former Barcelona star Sergio Busquets has announced his retirement.
“It’s a very ambitious project, a winning club that is doing things the right way, and that’s what attracted me: coming here to keep winning and competing,” Reguilon told Inter Miami’s website.
“My objective is to keep winning, go after the trophies we’re missing, and win everything here.”
Reguilon joined Tottenham from Real Madrid in September 2020, initially impressing in North London, but he has spent the majority of the last three seasons out on loan at Man Utd, Atletico and Brentford.
In total, he has 86 Premier League appearances to his name, scoring twice. Reguilon has also made six appearances for Spain’s national team.
He will have some task replicating Alba’s impact for the Herons, with the 36-year-old recording a whopping eight goals and 16 assists across all competitions this year as they were crowned MLS champions for the first time.
