Will Sadie Sink play Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day? Since Sink was first announced as joining the cast, it’s been widely assumed that her role will be significant to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Back in 2024, insider Jeff Sneider reported that Sink was being eyed to play Jean Grey, claiming the character was being positioned for multiple Marvel projects.
This week, Sneider has indicated that Sadie Sink is essentially locked in for the role, despite Marvel yet to make any official announcement. As it stands, the Stranger Things star’s character remains unconfirmed, but speculation around her playing Jean Grey continues to gain traction.
Brand New Day picks up after No Way Home, as Peter Parker has lost everything after voluntarily erasing himself from the lives and memories of those he loved to protect the multiverse. Now, he is an adult living entirely alone, watching those he loved from afar.
Destin Daniel Cretton (Wonder Man, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) directs the new film, where Peter Parker is devoting himself to protecting New York full-time as Spider-Man, but the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
For now, her role in the MCU remains under wraps, with only a rumoured appearance in the trailer. Whether she is playing Jean Grey or another character entirely, her part is clearly being positioned as one to watch.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens in cinemas on July 31st.
