Buffalo Sabres right winger Jack Quinn of Ottawa, Ontario recorded his first career National Hockey League hat trick on Tuesday. He accomplished the feat in a 6-3 Sabres win over the San Jose Sharks at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.
Quinn added an assist for a four point game. It was the first time in Quinn’s career he had four points.
In the first period, Quinn opened the scoring at 4:12 of the opening frame from Ryan McLeod of Mississauga, Ontario and Jason Zucker. Quinn then put the Sabres up 5-3 at the 42 second mark of the third period from McLeod and Rasmus Dahlin. Then Quinn closed the scoring with two minutes and 46 seconds left in the third period into an empty net from McLeod.
Quinn was one of two Canadians on the Sabres to score in the game. The other was Beck Malenstyn of Delta, British Columbia.
In 2025-26, Quinn has 15 goals and 28 assists for 43 points. He is a +9 with 14 penalty minutes, six power-play points, four game-winning goals, 141 shots on goal, three faceoff wins, 21 blocked shots, 36 hits, 11 takeaways and 61 giveaways.
The Sabres currently lead the Atlantic Division. With a record of 40 wins, 19 regulation losses and six losses in extra time for 86 points.
