Jelly Roll has finally taken home his first Grammy award, and he did so alongside Shaboozey. Awards have been coming out prior to the big ceremony, which means some big performers are hearing their names called. So, what did Jelly land his first award for? Keep reading for all of the exciting details.
Jelly Roll Wins 1st Grammy Award
It has been a rollercoaster few years for Jelly Roll. He went from an incarcerated felon who could not even see his firstborn to dominating the charts and traveling all over the world. Moreover, he has full custody of his daughter, Bailee Ann, and has been happily married to Bunnie Xo for nearly a decade. Jelly has been an inspiration to those who need a reason to believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Recently, fans have been in awe as he dropped nearly three hundred pounds and looks better than he ever has. Now, he has another reason to celebrate.
Jelly Roll and Shaboozey have won their first Grammy award as a duo. The award was for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, and the song was “Amen.” This was the first Grammy either had won, but Jelly was not in attendance when it happened. It all occurred via livestream, so Jelly and his wife were likely getting ready for the big event. Fortunately, Shaboozey was there, and he gave a heartfelt speech that melted all hearts:
“I’ve never written a speech in my life…Dear God, I just wanna say thank you. Nothing is possible without you. I want to also thank my mother, who as of today has retired from her job of 30 years, working in the medical field as a registered nurse in the psych ward. She worked 3 to 4 jobs just to provide for me and my four siblings, the children of immigrants … I have the greatest team in the world, thank you so much. And the last thing I want to say is immigrants built this country, literally. So this is for them, for all children of immigrants. This is also for those who came to this country for better opportunities … Thank you for all your stories … you’ve given America color. Thank you.”
They were in amazing company in this category. Alongside Jelly Roll and Shaboozey were Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert, so they had some incredible competition. Jelly is not out for the rest of the night as the Antioch, Tennessee native has more nominations ahead. So, he could leave with more awards in his hands.
Another One!
As this was being written, Jelly Roll won his second Grammy award. Bunnie Xo shared the big news that he and Brandon Lake had won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. This was a huge deal as Jelly is now going into the ceremony with two Grammys. Fans are over the moon ecstatic for the performer:
-
Nope, don’t need tissues, well, my shirt lol Congratulations, well deserved!
- If anyone deserves this it is most certainly Jelly Roll bubbbaaaaaaaa, YOU DID IT for the losers again
Again, there is still more to come, so everyone get ready, and congratulations to Jelly Roll. Yes, he will be in attendance this evening, but they hand out awards earlier to shorten the show, so no worries. See you then.
