Jen Shah Showered With Love In First Video Post Prison Release

Former “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Jen Shah was showered with love in the first video of her as a free woman after being released from prison.

The reality star, 52, was initially sentenced to nearly seven years behind bars for her role in a nationwide telemarketing scheme that targeted elderly and vulnerable victims.

Jen Shah was given the ultimate Christmas gift just weeks ago when the Federal Bureau of Prisons officially set her release date for December 10, 2025, and it appears everyone around her knows it, too.

In a video shared by TMZ, Shah ran into the arms of her family members inside the Salt Lake City International Airport after arriving on a flight from Texas. Shah was sporting a long brown coat, oversized sunglasses, and silky, straight hair.

Other clips showed the former “Real Housewives” star greeting a crowd of loved ones who held signs, balloons, and flowers, and offered plenty of cheer to the released felon. Shah was quite emotional in the clips as well, as one close-up captured the mother of two gasping for air as she sobbed in the arms of those closest to her.

Following her guilty plea, Shah was booked into FPC Bryan, a minimum security prison in Bryan, Texas. Behind bars, the disgraced Bravo star reportedly spent time with other high-profile inmates, such as Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes and Ghislaine Maxwell, the woman convicted of assisting Jeffrey Epstein.

The 63-year-old was sentenced to 20 years in 2022 for her role in Epstein’s sex trafficking operation. Before being transferred to FPC Bryan, Maxwell was serving her sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee, Florida. Upon her arrival at the SLC airport, Shah avoided all questions about whether she had spoken with Maxwell or Holmes behind bars.

Shah was sentenced to 78 months in prison for orchestrating a nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme, according to the Department of Justice. From 2012 to 2021, the reality star was an “integral leader of a wide-ranging, nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme that victimized thousands of innocent people.”

“Many of Shah’s victims were elderly or vulnerable. Many of those people suffered significant financial hardship and damage. At Shah’s direction, victims were defrauded over and over again until they had nothing left. She and her co-conspirators persisted in their conduct until the victims’ bank accounts were empty, their credit cards were at their limits, and there was nothing more to take,” the press release continued.

At her sentencing, Shah was ordered to forfeit $6.5 million, 30 luxury items, and 78 counterfeit luxury items. She was also directed to pay over $6 million in restitution.

While Shah is unlikely to reunite with her former “RHOSLC” co-stars, they did react to the news of her guilty plea in 2022. A source told E! News that the Utah ladies were “in shock” and beyond “disappointed” to hear she’d admitted guilt in the case. “The whole time Jen has never wavered on maintaining her innocence,” they added before sharing the women were feeling “duped, misled and lied to by their friend.”

At the time, Shah’s lawyer released a statement about her client, calling her a “good woman who crossed a line.” They continued, “She accepts full responsibility for her actions and deeply apologizes to all who have been harmed.” Shah’s lawyer revealed that the reality star pled guilty so she could “pay her debt to society and put this ordeal behind her and her family.”

As Shah concludes her legal drama, Wendy Osefo from “The Real Housewives of Potomac” has been embroiled in a scandal of her own. According to a previous report from The Blast, Wendy and her husband, Eddie, were arrested in October 2025 and hit with various fraud charges.

Maryland law enforcement officers claim the reality TV couple fabricated a burglary to receive hefty payouts from their insurance companies. They also claimed the pair had a “pattern of excessive spending” and were in “substantial debt.”

At BravoCon 2025, Wendy opened up about the situation for the first time, saying, “You know, it’s an unfortunate situation, and right now I can’t say too much, but I will say when the time is right, I will share my story with everyone, and for now they’re just allegations, so we will continue to push forward.”
