Jerry Bruckheimer has teased fans with a host of big-name films at the Variety Entertainment and Technology Summit this week. The producer dropped hints about a follow-up to F1: The Movie, Top Gun 3 and a new Pirates of the Caribbean instalment.
Bruckheimer handled production for F1, directed by Joseph Kosinski. The Brad Pitt-led drama was seen as a risk due to Formula 1’s lack of popularity outside Europe. But Bruckheimer believed that was the key ingredient for its success: “It gave you a great ride and you got immersed inside this world that you knew nothing about. And when you walked out, you knew a lot more about what these drivers go through.”
It seems Bruckheimer was right. The film has grossed over $624 million worldwide. Speaking on what he’d be working on next, the producer remained tight-lipped. However, he did shed some insight on prospective future titles: “We’re developing another Top Gun. Hopefully, we’ll make another F1. We’re working on another Pirates…We’re working on a lot of different movies that have become successful, and hopefully we can get ‘em all made.”
Although nothing is promised, Bruckheimer’s words seem optimistic. Fans can put their trust in the producer, who has been behind some of the biggest blockbusters in recent memory.
