Jesse Ventura has had a colorful career, from wrestler to politician. Recently, he weighed in on the recent conflict in Iran. However, he sparked a few reactions with recent comments he made concerning Barron Trump, the son of President Donald Trump.

Jesse Ventura Recently Talked About The Military On Piers Morgan’s Uncensored

Ventura first came to fame for many as a professional wrestler with the World Wrestling Federation. Following this, he started an acting career, including appearing in 1987’s Predator. Ventura has also had a career in politics. From 1999 to 2003, for instance, he served as the 38th governor of Minnesota.

Through his political career, Ventura has discussed a number of figures relating to politics. Recently, he sparked some reactions after talking about Barron Trump, son of President Donald Trump.

Ventura made these comments during an appearance on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored. Noting that President Trump had taken a hard stance toward the conflict with Iran, he felt it was fair for Barron to enlist in the U.S. military. He also felt that this would be the only way the war would be “justified,” noting that other citizens and their children would be putting their lives on the line.

Ventura also asked, “How can you send someone else’s kids to war if you won’t send your own? So, I’m calling on Barron Trump to enlist in the US military. Do something your father never had the courage to do.”

A Few Commenters Agreed With Ventura’s Sentiment, But Thought Another Member Of The Family Should Serve

As he continued, Ventura called out Trump’s family, noting, “To my knowledge, a Trump in the last hundred years has never done military service. Well, Barron, you can change that. Enlist in the United States military right now.” He also added, “Everybody in my family has served, so I think I can say that with all due confidence.”

On social media, Ventura’s comments sparked a number of reactions. Quite a few commenters thought that it was wrong for Ventura to single out Barron and “punish” him for his father’s actions.

    Former Governor Jesse Ventura:

On the other hand, a few others came to Ventura’s defense. A few offered a compromise, saying another member of the family should serve, with some naming the president himself. Some comments included:

    • “It is wrong to punish a child for his father’s sin. I hope neither Barron nor anyone’s son, or other family member, should have to serve in this unjust war.”
    • “It’s not fair to pick on Barron. It is fair to call out Trump.”
    • “Guy talks like he was in the UFC. You were not, Jessie. You played make-believe men in tights wrestling. I get that he was a service member, but he joined willingly. Me thinks Barron has a bigger calling in life.”
    • “Yep. If Trump wants a war, then Barron should have to enlist and be sent to the front lines. Fair is only fair.”
