Kimmel has been the host of executive producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which premiered back in 2003. Over the years, viewers have often heard Kimmel talk politics on his show, with the host often discussing President Donald Trump during his administration.
Recently, Kimmel discussed President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address in the House Chamber of the U.S. Capitol in Washington. At the time, while discussing subjects ranging from crime to the economy, it was noted that Trump had broken the record of the longest SOTU address, lasting around an hour and 48 minutes.
During a recent episode of his talk show, Kimmel’s monologue took issue with how long the speech ran. He quipped, “When you ramble mostly incoherently for two hours, is that technically still a speech or does it at some point become a conniption thing?”
Kimmel Also Criticized Trump’s Mental Health, A Point He’s Made Before
Things took a more serious turn as Kimmel reflected on what Trump had to say during his address. In particular, he took issue with Trump describing Somalis living in Minnesota as people who were “plundering America.”
Trump then asked people to stand if they believed the country’s government’s first duty was to “protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.” When many Democrats refused to stand, When many Democrats refused to stand, Trump called them “crazy.”

This caused Kimmel to joke, “I have to say, Trump’s dementia really makes me miss Joe Biden’s dementia. It was a much friendlier dementia.” As previously reported, Kimmel has often mocked Trump’s mental health, even taking the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, which Trump had previously claimed to have aced.
Kimmel continued, “Here’s the real State of the Union, OK? We have a nut job wannabe king who’s doing everything he can to censor opinions he doesn’t want to hear. He has his goons arresting, incarcerating, and killing American citizens.”
During the monologue, Kimmel also claimed that the president had neglected “the sick, the poor, the hungry” in favor of “lining the pockets of billionaires.” He also claimed, “He’s protecting p***** and won’t explain it,” which was seen as a reference to the Epstein files.
