St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer of Winnipeg, Manitoba is continuing his breakout season in the National Hockey League. On Sunday, Hofer recorded his fifth shutout of the 2025-26 NHL regular season, and seventh shutout of his NHL career as the St. Louis Blues blanked the Anaheim Ducks 4-0 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Hofer made 22 saves for the shutout. He had seven saves in the first period, eight saves in the second period and seven saves in the third period. Beckett Sennecke of Toronto, Ontario, defenseman Jacob Trouba and Tim Washe led the Ducks with three shots on goal.
Two Canadians scored for the Blues. Jordan Kyrou of Toronto, Ontario scored the game-winning goal at 4:22 of the second period. It was his second game-winning goal of the season. Meanwhile, Jonathan Drouin of Ste-Agathe, Quebec had a goal in his first game with the Blues since being traded from the New York Islanders at the trade deadline.
Hofer has a record 16 wins, 11 regulation losses and three losses in extra time. He has a goals against average of 2.69 and a save percentage of .903. Hofer’s five shutouts are the second most in the NHL. He has one less shutout than Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders, who has six shutouts.
