The Princess of Wales recently made waves for a new wellness practice after her teacher, Chris Levine, broke the news. The British contemporary artist is well known for taking one of the most famous portraits of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The revelation of Kate Middleton’s secret hobby follows her highly publicized cancer battle. She revealed her condition in March 2024, two months after Kensington Palace announced that she had undergone abdominal surgery.

According to new reports, Levine confirmed that he had taken up the vital role of teaching Kate a new wellness practice: meditation! After sharing her new hobby, the contemporary artist confessed that he had said too much.

Meditation isn’t a new hobby for members of the royal family, and Levine has gained popularity for capturing the late Queen in a meditative state. The picture, titled “Lightness of Being,” is the cover of the artist’s new book, “Inner Light,” and one of his most celebrated works.

Besides Kate and the late Queen, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have also shared their love for meditation. PEOPLE reported that the Duke of Sussex raved about the benefits of the wellness practice in a 2019 interview, noting that it helped him manage his anxiety.

Harry confessed that he meditated daily to relax his nerves ahead of the birth of his first child with Meghan. His wife echoed similar sentiments about the benefits of meditation in her former lifestyle blog, “The Tig,” admitting that she initially thought the practice was BS until she got into it.

Kate’s meditation practice comes months after she announced she was in remission from cancer in January 2025. The Blast reported in August that she renewed public concerns about her well-being after she was spotted looking slimmer.

Sources claimed that those close to Kate believed she had dropped around 90 pounds. They expressed concern for her sudden weight loss, speculating that her body might have been unable to handle months of chemotherapy.

“Word is she’s having a difficult time and has no appetite, and is losing weight as a result. She’s gaunt and has little to no muscle tone,” an insider said. Dr. Gabe Mirkin echoed similar sentiments, theorizing that Kate’s weight loss could stem from complications or side effects of chemotherapy.

According to sources, Kate’s cancer battle was more severe than she let on. Her condition was allegedly so dire that those close to her labeled her survival a miracle. Royal commentator Rebecca English echoed similar sentiments about the Princess’s cancer battle.

English described Kate’s return to the spotlight as an incredible feat, given that she had been ill just months earlier. Another palace insider noted that the future Queen’s condition proved how difficult it was to recover from cancer fully.

“As anyone who has been through that experience will tell you, you can feel very unwell for a long time afterwards. It can take years to recover,” the insider claimed. Their words matched sources’ comments in June after Kate skipped the Royal Ascot to allegedly prioritize her recovery.

Kate wasn’t the only person who had a challenging time after her cancer diagnosis, as her husband faced an emotional ordeal. The Blast shared in September that Prince William had reflected on the difficulties he faced during a double cancer scare.

Before Kate announced her cancer diagnosis, her father-in-law, King Charles III, had been diagnosed with cancer. William confessed that it was challenging dealing with two cancer diagnoses affecting his loved ones, calling 2024 the “hardest year” of his life.

The Prince of Wales echoed similar comments in a November 2024 interview, saying: “It’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life.” William added that it was challenging to juggle multiple responsibilities in his father’s and wife’s absence.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold reflected on Kate and William’s relationship in his memoir, “The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life in Royal Service.”The Blast reported that he covered their famous 2007 separation and the lengths the future King took to reconcile with his partner.

Harrold claimed that he had begged William and Kate to have a formal dinner before their breakup; however, the couple never took his suggestion seriously. The Prince of Wales changed his tune after the breakup and allegedly asked the former butler to set the dinner.
