Kathie Lee Gifford is known for her long career in television, whether fans know her better alongside Regis Philbin or Hoda Kotb. Recently, she gave fans a bit of an update about where her life is now. Looking at both the good and the bad, she even shared a story about another television personality.
Kathie Lee Gifford Even Touched On A Family Project She’s Developing
Gifford is a television personality known for a variety of shows. From 1985 to 2000, she co-hosted Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee alongside Regis Philbin.
Following this, Gifford spent 11 years alongside Hoda Kotb on the fourth hour of NBC’s Today. Although she’s occasionally made guest appearances on the show since then, her last official day as part of the crew was in April 2019.
Recently, Gifford gave fans some insight into what her life is like now in a conversation with Yahoo. Starting things off, she talked about life as a grandmother, noting, “Five grandchildren in three years. It’s like precious pandemonium.”
Gifford noted that her family lives throughout the country, from Tennessee to Connecticut. Fortunately, she shared that she has homes near both, so she logs in a lot of “Bubbe” time.
Gifford then expressed her joy in seeing new life come into this world. She added, “Anytime a child is born is an amazing blessing. I just rejoice. It’s like one of the final miracles left in this world, because it’s such a dark place too often.”

Since her time on television, Gifford has also touched on her latest project: a historical thriller, Nero & Paul, How the Gospel of Grace Defeated the Ruler of Rome, which is already out. The book, the second in a trilogy written with Bryan M. Litfin, is a study in contrasts between the Roman emperor and the famous apostle.
Reportedly, she’s also producing a film about St. Paul with her son. As she explained, “I’m fascinated by these epic stories in the Bible. I’m a huge history buff.”

Despite all of this, Gifford admitted that things don’t always get easier when one gets older. She also weighed in on the recent disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, commenting that she prayed for and sent text messages to Savannah.
Gifford shared that she got a response after around a month, noting, “She said, ‘Love you, friend.’ I was just happy to hear her respond. I didn’t need it, but it said something to me about how she is, maybe, in her healing.”
Gifford also weighed in on her health, having had four operations in the last year alone, after previously undergoing hip replacement surgery in 2024. As the outlet noted, she shared, “It just gets harder. Everything gets harder. The golden years? It’s a lie.”
