Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, are mostly known as talk show hosts. They host ABC’s LIVE with Kelly and Mark. He joined the show as a full-time co-host after Ryan Seacrest’s departure in 2023. But they both got their start in acting. They actually met when they played love interests on the soap All My Children.

LIVE Hosts Lose Out On Emmy Award
Kelly Ripa has two Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host. She won in 2012 when she co-hosted LIVE with Regis Philbin. She took home a second Emmy in 2024 along with her co-host, Mark Consuelos. The pair were up for the award again in 2025.
However, the Emmy went to Drew Barrymore for her self-named daytime talk show. But Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos didn’t leave the ceremony empty-handed. LIVE with Kelly and Mark took home Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.

Mark Consuelos’ Stint On 9-1-1 Wraps Up
9-1-1 moved from Fox to ABC in 2024 for Season 8. Two main characters, Athena Grant (Angela Bassett) and Bobby Nash (Peter Krause) went on an ill-fated cruise for a belated honeymoon in the Season 8 premiere. They eventually made it back on dry land, but not without several life-threatening twists and turns.
In a controversial move, the show killed Bobby off at the end of the season. After a multi-episode arc of the cruise, Season 9 had a lot to live up to. Athena and Hen Wilson (Aisha Hinds) went to outer space as a gift from a billionaire (Mark Consuelos) after saving him from getting eaten by a whale.

On the episode that aired on Thursday, October 30, Athena and Hen were finally rescued and returned to Earth. Mark Consuelos revealed on LIVE that it was his final episode with the show, at least for now.
Kelly Ripa Shares Husband’s Prime Time Future
Kelly Ripa revealed that even she didn’t know if her husband would live or die on the ABC prime time show.
“I don’t even know if he dies. He’s told me nothing,” she said. But she had an idea for a spinoff for him if his character survived.
“I love you on this show. You bumbling through outer space. The Bumbling Astronaut,” she told him on LIVE. ABC debuted a 9-1-1: Nashville spinoff in September, so another spinoff may not be in the cards right now. But Mark Consuelos’ billionaire character was alive the last time viewers saw him. Maybe he could make an appearance on the 9-1-1 spinoff, which films in Nashville, Tennessee.
Fans can see Mark Consuelos on the big screen in February as part of the cast of Scream 7. The (allegedly) last movie in the franchise hits theaters on February 27, 2026.
