Kensington has released its FY25 Kensington Cares Impact Report, reinforcing its belief that travel has the power to create meaningful change. Guided by its philosophy, Journey for a Better World, Kensington Cares continues to measure the impact it makes in the communities and environments it supports around the world.

Through Kensington Cares, the organization works to ensure that the positive impact of travel extends beyond the journeys it crafts, supporting conservation, education, poverty alleviation, and community resilience around the world.

Kensington donates one percent of trip sales to trusted global partners advancing this work.

Clients are invited to multiply the impact of their journey by contributing one percent of their trip cost through the company’s One + One model. In FY25, more than $141,500 was raised through client contributions alone.

Helen Giontsis, President of Kensington, said today’s travellers increasingly want their journeys to reflect their values, but often lack a clear path to meaningful action.

Giontsis observed that: “Travellers consistently tell us they want to leave a positive footprint, but they are not always sure how to do that in a thoughtful and credible way. Kensington Cares’ Journey for a Better World philosophy ensures that social impact is an inherent and seamless part of each trip.”

And she added that as travellers experience destinations more deeply through private, guided journeys, they often develop a stronger connection to the people, cultures, and ecosystems that shape those places.

In FY25, sixty percent of funding supported Culture and Community initiatives, with additional investment directed toward Exploration and Conservation, and Poverty Alleviation.

A total of 10 organizations received funding, reflecting a balanced approach across long-term partnerships and targeted projects.

Major recipients included The Explorers Club through the Kensington Conservation Grant, Nekton for its Ocean Rising initiative and First Descent: Comoros expedition, and eXXpedition to expand its ocean-focused research voyages tackling plastic pollution. Support for Giants of Africa has constructed three new basketball courts in Rwanda, Morocco, and South Africa for thousands of African youth to play on, as well as provided the opportunity for the boys’ and girls’ teams from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to participate in GOA Festival.

Kensington also continued its longstanding sponsorship of Mara West Foundation, supporting communities in the Masai Mara to advance education infrastructure and healthcare services. Since the partnership began in 2007, Kensington’s contributions have expanded and renovated the Oloosinon Primary School, and built Kensington Hall Oloosinon Secondary School for Girls, including a recent expansion that added a science lab and clean water systems serving students and teachers.
