While offering a glimpse at her new show All’s Fair, Kim Kardashian revealed that she has been bonding with Sarah Paulson over conspiracy theories.
During the Thursday, October 30, episode of The Kardashians, Kim, 45, and Paulson, 50, were discussing the 1969 Apollo space mission, with the reality star saying, “I’m sending you a million interviews with Buzz Aldrin. This [reporter] asks, ‘What was the scariest moment?’ And he goes, ‘There was no scary moment because it didn’t happen. It could have been scary, but it wasn’t because it didn’t happen.’”
Kim continued: “I think it didn’t happen. I’m going to go on a serious deep dive. I send [Sarah] conspiracies all the time.”
While Kim seemed convinced, the video she was referring to was actually several interviews with Aldrin that were taken out of their original context and cut together to mislead viewers. The initial clip was from an event in 2015 where Aldrin was asked about the “scariest moment” of the journey to the moon. He said a scary moment “didn’t happen” but it could have because of the risks.
Another video from the 2015 National Book Festival featured Aldrin explaining how budget issues led to very few trips to space. A spokesperson for Aldrin did not respond to requests for comment when the truncated video went viral.
Elsewhere in the Hulu series, Kim was asked by producers whether she believed the conspiracy theory.
“I don’t think we did [go to the moon]. I think it was fake. I’ve seen a few videos on Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn’t happen. He says it all the time now,” she said while referencing the doctored video. “Maybe we should find Buzz Aldrin. Oh, my God, Khloé should get him on her podcast. A conspiracy theory podcast.”
Kim shared her reasons for doubting the moon landing — all of which came from non reputable TikToks.
“There’s no gravity on the moon. Why is the flag blowing? The shoes that they have in the museum that they wore on the moon is a different print in the photos,” she claimed. “Why are there no stars? They’re gonna say I’m crazy no matter what but go to TikTok and see for yourself.”
While Kim appeared to question the moon landing, the excursion was well documented when astronauts Neil Armstrong and Aldrin were on the Apollo 11 Lunar Module in 1969. They went on to become the first people to step on the lunar surface, with photographs from the mission being shared after their return.
“July 20, 1969. Contact light, engine stop. The Apollo 11 lunar module Eagle touched down at Tranquility Base on the Moon,” Aldrin wrote via X in July 2025 in honor of the anniversary of the milestone. “A few hours later, Neil Armstrong and I stepped foot on the Moon, with Michael Collins orbiting close-by.”
Aldrin issued a thank you to everyone who made the trip possible.
“An achievement resulting from years of incalculable effort, commitment, and team work.
We all did our part to see President Kennedy’s words become reality,” he continued. “‘We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others too.’”
He concluded: “I couldn’t be prouder to have completed this mission with the hundreds of thousands of people that helped get us to the moon and back home. God bless the USA and all of humankind.”
