Just a few days after launching initial Black Friday deals, Telus-owned Koodo is already making its offers better.
The wireless provider just increased the data on some of its bring-your-own-phone (BYOP) plans by 10GB, making the deals more compelling. The provider’s plans are as follows:
- $40/50GB 5G (previously $40/40GB)
- $50/70GB 5G (previously $50/60GB)
- $75/100GB 5G (unchanged)
The above prices still include a $10/mo discount for using automatic bank payments. Plus, all the plans include unlimited Canada-wide calling and unlimited international SMS, along with one free perk.

Koodo’s free perk choices can vary from plan to plan, but options include premium voicemail, rollover data, 5G speed boost, three-day U.S. or international Easy Roam, and more.
The extra data makes these plans more compelling than before and puts it in line with, or in some cases, better than the competition.
For example, Bell’s Virgin Plus offers $50/50GB and $55/70GB plans (including its own 10GB data bonus), making its plans more expensive than similar options from Koodo. Rogers’ Fido also has $50/50GB and $55/70GB options.
On the other hand, providers like Freedom Mobile and Telus-owned Public Mobile have cheaper options. The former has a $39/60GB, $49/100GB, and other options with 5G and Canada/U.S./Mexico usage. Public’s plans are similar, but typically cost $1 more per month and have less data.
Still, for some people who might not live in an area where Freedom is available, the $40/50GB Koodo plan isn’t a terrible option. But here’s hoping we see even better deals come on Black Friday.
