Good news for those needing a device upgrade — Koodo is offering the Pixel 10 Pro for only $22/mo.
The deal is with Koodo’s Happy Tab Plus pricing. Essentially, customers can get the 128GB model (in both the Obsidian and Moonstone colours) for $21.96/mo for 24 months. It is a similar story with the 256GB model (only in the Obsidian colour), where the Happy Tab Plus pricing brings the payments to $22.58/mo for 24 months.
Now, this isn’t exactly a jaw-dropping deal for the Pixel 10 Pro. Fido is offering a similar option right now, with the 128GB in both Obsidian, Porcelain, and Moonstone colours at $22/mo for 24 months. The 256GB model is a bit more expensive with Fido, at $27.42/mo; however, you do get the Porcelain and Jade colours. Virgin Plus offers virtually identical discounts using its Sweet Pay data plan to Fido; however, you only get the Obsidian and Moonstone to choose from.
Moving on from the carrier comparison, let’s compare this to purchasing it outright.
For the Koodo deal on the 126GB Pixel 10 Pro, the phone costs $21.96/mo, totalling $527.04 over two years. The minimum plan offered with this device is $50/60GB, which, over 24 months, comes to $1200. In total, the 128GB model adds up to approximately $1,727.04 over two years.
For the 256GB model, the phone costs $22.58/mo, totalling $541.92 over two years. The same minimum plan is offered with this device ($50/60GB, or $1200 over two years), so we can reuse that calculation. In total, the 256GB model adds up to $1,741.92 over two years.
Now, if you were to purchase the device outright from Google, it would cost $1349 for the 128GB model and $1479 for the 256GB model. From there, using a BYOP plan with the same GB amount ($40/60GB, or 960 over two years), it can be determined that over the same two-year period, the 128GB model will cost $2309, and the 256GB model will cost $2439.
This means that, respectively, there is a $582 (128GB) and $698 (256GB) difference between purchasing it outright from Google with a similar plan and this $22/mo deal.
Honestly, if I were in the market for a new phone, I would take this deal while it is still available. Especially considering prices being what they are (gas right now is $1.30/L near me. Oh, how I miss the 99-cent days), and with no signs of slowing down, the $582/$698 over two years could go a long way for the average person.
