Telus-owned Koodo Mobile is reportedly sending out 25GB bonus data offers to select customers. If you’re with Koodo, you may want to keep an eye on your texts.
iPhone in Canada first reported on this latest round of bonus data after one of their readers told them about the message they received. The text offered a “sweet surprise” of 25GB of monthly bonus data for free as “thanks for being with Koodo.”
While that might sound like a pretty great offer — who wouldn’t like an extra 25GB of free monthly data? — it’s worth pointing out this isn’t exactly new for Koodo. The wireless provider gives data away often, and has given away specifically 25GB before as well. For example, Koodo gave away 25GB of bonus data to some customers in August 2025. Moreover, there are a few forums on RedFlagDeals (RFD) about Koodo’s data giveaways, including one that has gotten updates as recently as this week.
In some cases, it seems like Koodo customers are getting the bonus data without even seeing a text. One Koodo customer posted on Reddit that they were surprised to discover their $15/5GB prepaid plan had suddenly increased to $15/30GB, and they wanted to know what the catch was. Several other customers chimed in, noting that they also received 25GB bonuses, and some warned that the ‘catch’ was an inevitable price hike (kinda like the one Koodo did earlier this month).
All that said, if you are a Koodo customer, keep an eye on your texts for a 25GB bonus, or maybe even check your bill to see if a bonus has already been applied to your account. While you’re at it, check your bill for warnings about an upcoming price increase — Canadian carriers must notify customers of price increases, and most put these notices in the monthly bill, usually in tiny font near the bottom.
And as always, if your bill is going up, you should start shopping around for a better deal elsewhere. Who knows, you might find a crazy good deal with 250GB of data, and soon you might not have to worry about activation fees either.
