Not to be left out of the latest price wars, Telus flanker brand Koodo launched a 25 per cent discount on plans.
Until March 16, customers can get the following deals when they bring their own phone (BYOP):
- $23.75/20GB (regular $45)
- $27.50/80GB – includes 20GB data bonus (regular $50)
- $35/80GB CAN/US/MEX (regular $60)
- $38.75/100GB (regular $65)
Note the above prices include Koodo’s $10 discount for using pre-authorized bank payments.
Koodo plans as of March 13, 2026.
At the time of writing, other flanker brands Fido and Virgin Plus had not launched similar discounts. Moreover, Koodo’s 25 per cent discount only lasts for 24 months.
Koodo’s deal comes as other Canadian wireless providers launched huge discounts leading into the weekend. Freedom kicked things off with the return of its $40/250GB plan. Then, fellow Telus brand Public Mobile increased the data on some plans, offering $40/150GB and $50/250GB options.
While Koodo isn’t beating the others on data, it is — surprisingly — winning on price. $35 gets you 80GB at Koodo, but only 50GB at Public and 10GB at Freedom. That said, if you want to hold onto your plan for a while, Public and Freedom will be better options since their deals don’t have expiry dates.
It’s been an interesting day watching wireless providers duke it out with some surprisingly good deals, deals that are in many ways better than what we saw during Black Friday and Boxing Week. Here’s hoping we continue to see carriers battle it out with deals like this.
