Horror proves unstoppable this week as The Conjuring: Last Rites storms straight in at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart.

The chilling finale to the long-running supernatural saga sees real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren drawn into one final, terrifying case, with a family plagued by a demonic presence that forces the couple to confront evil like never before. The film’s combination of emotional farewell and unrelenting scares has clearly struck a chord, debuting at the top and outselling every other title across digital and disc.

Last week’s chart-topper Jurassic World: Rebirth slips one place to Number 2, but the dinosaurs continue to dominate. The latest chapter in the prehistoric franchise takes audiences back to a remote island where science’s ambition once again clashes with nature’s fury and the results are as thrillingly destructive as ever.

At Number 3, A Minecraft Movie builds upward from last week’s Number 4 position to secure a new chart high. The hit video game comes to life in this colourful, family-friendly adventure as players join forces to save the Overworld from chaos with a creative, blocky blockbuster that’s proving a hit with all ages.

Falling three places to Number 4 after last week’s chart-topping debut, The Naked Gun (2025) continues to make audiences laugh with its riotous return to slapstick comedy. The reboot breathes new life into the beloved spoof series with absurd investigations, chaotic car chases and a healthy dose of deadpan humour.

Rising three spots to Number 5, musical fantasy Wicked continues to defy gravity. The lavish adaptation of the West End hit tells the untold story of Elphaba and Glinda before Dorothy’s arrival in Oz, with a dazzling combination of friendship, magic and soaring music that keeps enchanting home audiences.

Dropping four places to Number 6, How to Train Your Dragon (2025) remains a family favourite. This live-action retelling of the beloved animated saga reunites fans with Hiccup and Toothless as they face new adventures in a visually stunning world full of heart, courage and fire-breathing wonder.

At Number 7, Fantastic Four: First Steps slips from last week’s Number 3. Marvel’s “First Family” find their footing in this origin story, charting how four scientists transform into extraordinary heroes and begin their journey as the cornerstone of a new MCU chapter.

Superman (2025) drops three places to Number 8 as the Man of Steel continues to capture hearts. James Gunn’s bold reboot offers a hopeful, human take on the world’s most famous superhero, blending emotion, idealism and spectacle in a story that soars.

Climbing one place to Number 9, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy continues to charm UK audiences. Renée Zellweger returns as everyone’s favourite diarist, juggling motherhood, modern dating and middle age with trademark wit and warmth.

Finally, 28 Years Later rounds out the Top 10, falling three spots from last week’s Number 7. Danny Boyle’s long-awaited sequel revisits a world scarred by infection, following a new generation as they navigate a post-apocalyptic Britain haunted by old horrors.

The British Association for Screen Entertainment (BASE) site collects all the  data from retailer members of the Entertainment Retailers Association. All the results are on the Official Film Chart posted every Wednesday at noon and counts movie downloads from  many of the popular services digital downloads, as well as 4K UHD,  Blu-ray along with    DVD disc sales from all high street and online retailers.
