Lauren Sanchez’s Risqué Bill Clinton-Related Name Revealed

A shocking new legal battle has brought private stories about Lauren Sanchez into the public eye.

A former friend has filed a lawsuit containing bold allegations about the media personality’s past interests and professional conduct. 

She alleges that Sánchez once had the hots for former President Bill Clinton amid claims that the journalist also stole some of her ideas for her 2024 book, “The Fly Who Flew to Space.”

According to a federal lawsuit filed in California by yoga instructor Alanna Zabel, Sánchez once harbored an intense romantic interest in former Clinton.

Zabel claims that after Sánchez met Clinton in 2009, she became so fixated on him that Zabel began calling her “Monica” in reference to Monica Lewinsky. 

The lawsuit alleges that Sánchez, who was married to Patrick Whitesell at the time, actually enjoyed the cheeky nickname and described the former president as “sexy and mesmerizing.”

According to Page Six, Zabel noted that Sánchez was determined to secure an interview with him, which eventually happened on the show “Extra” in 2010, where viewers noted their flirty rapport.

Besides the personal bombshell revelations, the core of the lawsuit involves a claim of professional theft. Zabel alleges that Sánchez’s 2024 children’s book, “The Fly Who Flew to Space,” plagiarized key elements from her book, “Dharma Kitty Goes to Mars,” published a year earlier.

The two women reportedly discussed a book idea years ago based on a fly Sánchez saw on a helicopter windshield. 

While Zabel is seeking damages for copyright infringement, Sánchez’s legal team has dismissed the claims as “frivolous,” arguing the only similarity is that both stories involve a trip to space.

The shocking revelations in Zabel’s lawsuit against Sánchez came days after the journalist opened up about being diagnosed with dyslexia. 

During a recent appearance on the Today show to promote her new book, “The Fly Who Flew Under The Sea,” the 56-year-old became visibly emotional while discussing her lifelong struggle with dyslexia. 

Sánchez revealed that she didn’t discover the learning difference until she was 19, having spent years in school feeling “dumb” and hiding her inability to spell. It wasn’t until a community college instructor encouraged her to get tested that she realized her brain simply worked differently.

This validation transformed her perspective on academics and gave her the confidence to eventually pursue a career in journalism and writing, per The Blast.

Weeks before opening up about her condition, Sánchez found herself under the spotlight once again after an unexpectedly viral moment. 

In late January 2026, the Emmy-winning journalist almost took a tumble during the Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2026 show. 

Dressed in a pale blue skirt and matching jacket accented with a dramatic fur collar, she was walking into the venue hand-in-hand with Bezos when her pointed-toe pump caught on a doorway ledge. 

As she was waving to the gathered photographers, the 56-year-old briefly lost her footing, causing a stumble that was captured from multiple angles.

Despite the slip, she recovered almost instantly and continued into the building alongside her husband, appearing entirely unfazed by the minor accident, The Blast reported.

The footage of the stumble quickly circulated online, leading to a mix of supportive and critical comments from fans.

While some social media users defended her by pointing out that everyone trips occasionally, others focused on Bezos’s reaction, with some criticizing him for seemingly pulling her along rather than offering a steadying hand. 

While Sánchez was heavily scrutinized for her near stumble, it wasn’t the first time she found herself under the spotlight for seemingly mundane things.  

Late last year, Bezos and Sánchez were seen at an oceanfront beach club, watching a high-energy bottle service display. The spectacle included staff shaking large bottles of champagne and bikini-clad women parading through the venue with sparklers, with one even being escorted in on a motorcycle.

Online critics were quick to roast the duo, with several users arguing that such a display was unbecoming of their age. 

“Unpopular opinion. But there does come a point when you’re too old for this,” one person wrote, per The Blast.

“I wish taste and money were correlated,” another added. 

While their vacation antics drew heavy criticism, the power couple has simultaneously reached a new peak of social influence within the Hollywood elite. Bezos and Lauren are officially cementing their status by taking on important roles at the upcoming Met Gala. 

The Blast confirmed that they are serving as major sponsors for the event as well as honorary co-chairs for fashion’s biggest night. 

The announcement of their leadership roles coincided with the reveal of the 2026 dress code, “Fashion Is Art.” During an appearance on the “Today” show, Sánchez expressed her deep honor at being hand-selected by Wintour for the position. 

She shared her excitement for the theme, noting that she considers designers to be true artists and is eager to see how guests interpret the creative prompt on the red carpet.
