Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos began their careers in entertainment on the soap opera All My Children. The co-stars fell in love when their characters were involved in a fan-favorite love story. The couple eloped in 1996, days after a breakup nearly derailed their relationship. But their love overcame the rough patch. They married, had three children, and continue to enjoy life together.
Mark Consuelos joined his wife, Kelly Ripa, as co-host of LIVE with Kelly and Mark in 2023 after Ryan Seacrest left. Now the hosts are leaving daytime for an exciting new gig. Keep reading for all the details on the huge move.
Mark Consuelos Revives Acting Career With Major Roles
Mark Consuelos is in demand as an actor lately. He recently wrapped up an exciting guest-starring role on ABC’s 9-1-1. His wife teased his future with the popular drama after his character survived being eaten by a shark. But Mark Consuelos is booked and busy and may not have time to return.
One of his next big roles is in the upcoming Scream 7 flick. He joins the franchise’s heroine Neve Campbell for the horror movie. His role hasn’t been revealed yet. Head to the movies on February 27, 2026, to find out if he’s the killer or another of Ghostface’s victims.
Mark Consuelos became the proud owner of an Italian football (soccer) team in 2022. Cameras were rolling as he tried to turn the team around and make them winners. Kelly Ripa also appeared in the ESPN docuseries Running with the Wolves.
LIVE Hosts Take On Huge New TV Gig
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos won a Daytime Emmy in October for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series. They previously won Outstanding Talk Series Hosts in 2024. While they were nominated again this year for their hosting, they lost out to Drew Barrymore.
But the couple has an even bigger role in an upcoming Emmy ceremony. The Hollywood Reporter revealed this week that Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos were tapped to host this year’s International Emmy Awards. The ceremony takes place in Manhattan, New York, on Monday, November 24.
The couple was chosen as hosts due to their long careers in the entertainment industry, including co-hosting LIVE with Kelly and Mark.
“We’re honored to host this year’s International Emmy Awards. It will be an incredible night of programming from across the global television community, and we look forward to celebrating it all right here in New York City,” the couple said in a statement.
The ceremony won’t be televised, but fans can tune in online at iemmys.tv. Some of the nominees this year include David Mitchell for Best Performance by an Actor in Ludwig, Charlotte Hope for Best Performance by an Actress in Catch Me A Killer, and Diljit Dosanjh for his role in Amar Singh Chamkila.
