In the trend, women tell their spouses or boyfriends that they saw a bird. Their partner’s response allegedly reveals if the relationship is strong or not. If the partner doesn’t seem interested in the bird, the relationship is weak.
On the other hand, if the partner asks follow-up questions about the fictional bird, they are invested in the relationship.

On the Wednesday, November 12, episode of the talk show, Kelly Ripa decided to try the theory out on her unknowing husband. She told Mark Consuelos that she saw a bird. He responded by asking what kind. He passed the test! Kelly Ripa shouted, “Oh my gosh, he loves me!”
She later joked that women should “file for divorce right away” if their partner fails the test. Mark Consuelos agreed that the relationship would be over.

Mark Consuelos pondered how to reverse the question to gauge a wife’s interest in her husband. The producer suggested sports, prompting Mark Consuelos to tell his wife that he was “really bummed about the Buccaneers.”
Kelly Ripa asked what happened, which was a successful follow-up question according to the “bird theory.”
He tried to stump his wife again by telling her he saw a cool car. She asked him what kind, prompting him to remind her that she doesn’t even like cars.
