Social media influencer turned WWE star Logan Paul is taking a Texas-based auction house to court, claiming a prized piece of Michael Jordan memorabilia he won for over half a million dollars might be fake.

In court documents, Paul, 30, alleges that Heritage Auctions refused to let him inspect a piece of the Chicago Bulls’ United Center floor after he won the bid, demanding payment or he would lose his rights to the item.

After a judge granted Logan Paul and his counsel a temporary restraining order on the deal, Heritage Auctions responded to the claims, denying any wrongdoing.

According to a report from ESPN, Paul filed an injunction against Heritage Auctions last Thursday, revealing the company reportedly refused to let him see the “Michael Jordan-signed piece of United Center floor” that he won after placing a $562,555.42 bid.

In the legal documents, Paul claimed that Heritage Auctions had demanded payment from him by September 25 or told him that he would lose his rights to the piece.

In an attempt to halt the process, Paul’s legal counsel, Josh Bernstein, filed for an injunction and was granted a temporary restraining order (TRO), with an official court date set for October 9.

In a statement to ESPN, Bernstein defended his client, calling “authenticity” in high-profile auctions a necessity. “Collectors like Logan deserve, and are entitled to, proof of authenticity that holds up under scrutiny and addresses glaring holes and inconsistencies,” he said.

Heritage Auctions reportedly listed the item as “the ultimate Michael Jordan display piece,” claiming it was an 8×8-foot section of the “1994-98 United Center Original Game Used Court.” The pricey piece of hardwood is said to be signed by Michael Jordan himself and also includes inscriptions which read, “Air Jordan,” “5X MVP,” “6X Finals MVP,” “10X Scoring Title,” and “HOF 2009.”

The listing claimed the piece of floor was “used from the United Center’s debut season of 1994 through the NBA Championship season of 1998” before it was “removed and replaced per NBA protocol.”

Heritage Auctions also reportedly included a certificate from Upper Deck Authentication, supposedly verifying the authenticity of the floor.

In his injunction, Paul claimed that the condition of the court doesn’t align with the United Center court from 1995-98, alleging that the floor must’ve been replaced or repainted.

Heritage Auctions responded to the claims, essentially calling Paul’s court move baseless. They denied Paul’s claims that they refused him permission to see the piece in person, adding that they attempted “to accommodate any in-person inspection and reasonable efforts for additional review.”

“We stand behind every item that we sell,” the company continued, maintaining its position that it received the piece of the hardwood from the Chicago Bulls organization. “This lot would not have been included for sale at auction unless we were fully confident in its authenticity.”

Paul’s legal team received email documentation after the WWE star acquired the item, ultimately uncovering some shocking truths.

In one of the emails, Heritage Auction’s director of sports auctions, Chris Ivy, reportedly admitted there was “no such documentation … matching the court to the 1998 … 2001” NBA seasons.

The legal documents also state that Ivy allegedly acknowledged that the photo-matching company Sports Investors Authentication was “unsuccessful because the attempted photo matches were only to the Bulls logo itself, not the wood grain — which is what PSA used for their provided photo matches.”

Paul Has Had Public Money Disputes Before

This isn’t the first time Paul has been in the headlines over money disputes, as he previously accused an airport staff member of stealing his shiny $330,000 timepiece. According to a report from The Blast, he mentioned the incident in a YouTube video in January 2025, saying, “I have reason to believe someone opened my bag during TSA and nabbed it out of there.”

“I don’t wanna point any fingers, but those motherf-ckers definitely took it. Allegedly. In my opinion,” he added before revealing another had gone missing as well. “The other one was a f-cking $250,000 Patek.”

Paul’s Brother Also Lost A Pricey Watch

And he’s not the only Paul who’s had some less-than-favorable experiences with fancy items. His younger brother, Jake, revealed in the same video that an expensive watch of his had been stolen while he was flying earlier in the year as well.

“I got my watch stolen this year, too,” he said. “The black Richard Mill. I paid $317,000, but it’s worth $550,000.”

After spending several days in the air, traveling for work and other engagements, he went to put it on and noticed it was missing.

“I flew like f-cking six places in like three days, and when I was finally at the last place, I went to go and put it on for dinner, and it was like gone,” he continued.
