Former Love After Lockup star Michael Simmons has been arrested once again, just months after he was last in cuffs. He has been in and out of trouble since he first appeared on the hit WeTV series in 2018. So, what did he do this time around, and what punishment could he be facing? Keep reading for more details.
Michael Simmons Arrested Again
When Michael Simmons first appeared on Season 2 of Love After Lockup, he was locked up for parole violations. He had spent two years behind bars and was torn between his wife and his girlfriend. Viewers watched the drama play out over two years, and after the shows ended, Michael was back in trouble. In November 2020, he was arrested for felony child neglect, followed by a December 2021 arrest for being a fugitive from justice. In March 2023, the LAL star was arrested for fighting with a girlfriend.
That was followed by a July 2024 arrest for two felonies and a misdemeanor, followed by a December 2024 charge of cocaine possession. June 2025 was crack cocaine, and on February 24th, 2026, he was arrested in Miami, Florida, as he had tried to use stolen credit cards. The credit card’s rightful owner could see where charges were attempted to be made. Therefore, she tracked him down and notified the authorities, who were able to stop him at a gas station. He was promptly arrested. In his mugshot, Michael looked rough, hair astray, and eyes half closed.

This is a felony charge, which does not bode well for the Love After Lockup alum. Moreover, his record is beyond extensive, so this could mean a long time behind bars. After fans of the show saw his mugshot, they felt nostalgic. It reminded them of his time on the hit series. Furthermore, they couldn’t believe two women fought over him.

As of now, the former Love After Lockup star is still behind bars. It seems Michael Simmons obtained the credit cards by stealing them from a mail vehicle. A court date has not been revealed just yet, but it likely will be soon. Again, fans had a lot to say upon seeing Michael back in trouble:
