ABC may have canceled the new Bachelorette season, but Hulu is debuting a new reality show that will be your next binge. Love Overboard follows the format of beautiful singles looking for love in front of television cameras. But it comes with a twist that left one contestant feeling “screwed over. Keep reading for all the details on the must-watch show.
Love Overboard Is Hulu’s New Reality Show
Season 22 of The Bachelorette was canceled earlier this week. The decision came after a video leaked of Taylor Frankie Paul assaulting her ex-boyfriend. The assault happened in 2023, and she pleaded guilty, but the video of the incident was just released. Additionally, a new investigation is open into another alleged incident that happened last month involving the same ex.
But reality TV fans can get their fix with a new dating show coming to Hulu this month. Love Overboard takes 16 singles and puts them on a yacht for a trip around the world. Bachelorette alum Gabby Windey, who is no longer single herself, serves as host.
The show officially premieres on Hulu on March 26. But a special premiere episode airs on ABC on Sunday, March 22, at 10 PM Eastern. It was supposed to follow The Bachelorette premiere. But ABC is airing an American Idol rerun instead.
Love Overboard is from podcaster Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network and another company that produced The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Contestant Loses It After Feeling ‘Screwed Over’ By Twist
Finding love on a yacht on the high seas sounds too good to be true. That’s because it is. Gabby Windey revealed a shocking twist to the contestants: Four couples will live on the upper deck of the yacht. The rest of the contestants will be in the lower deck and work for the upper deck. That means cooking, cleaning, and other chores.

One contestant, Bella Palk, had a total meltdown over the twist. Page Six shared an exclusive clip of the meltdown. “I can’t even clean my room!” she said through tears. Some of the other contestants tried to comfort her, but she wasn’t having it.
“I was really excited to come on this show thinking this was just gonna be, like, a yacht trip. I hate cleaning up after people. Why would I wanna pick up after people that I think I’m sexier than?” she said in a confessional.
Bella Palk said she felt “screwed over” by the twist. Some of the other women had little patience for the meltdown. Leela Ambrose-Fleck told the cameras that she couldn’t “handle it” when other people cried.
But there’s another twist. The contestants from the lower deck have a chance to get to the upper deck. All they have to do is break up one of the couples. Sounds dramatic, right?
Don’t miss the special episode of Love Overboard on ABC on Sunday, March 22.
