Viewers have watched as Mama June has fallen down and picked herself back up again. She has dealt with addiction and struggles with her children. Mama June Dealing With Medical Crisis
Fans saw Mama June struggling with her health when Family Crisis ended last season. She was struggling to walk and was in immense pain. Of course, after her daughter, Anna Cardwell, passed away from stage 4 adrenal carcinoma, she had to be more mindful. June knew she had to take every ache and pain far more seriously. Allegedly, she started to feel sick when Anna was staying with her, but she was so consumed with her decline that she put it off. Eventually, June had to undergo a hysterectomy, and it appeared that she was on the mend.
Moreover, she has dropped a lot of weight and is in a much better place in her life. However, ahead of the Season 8 premiere of Family Crisis, Mama June revealed she has been suffering. Although she noted that she is in menopause after the hysterectomy, she has an illness that can leave her “immobilized.” June clarified that it has nothing to do with menopause or what she had previously been going through. Additionally, she noted that it is all a mystery at this point:
“Some days are a struggle for me, but it’s nothing like [cancer]. I tell people, ‘We know it’s not ever gonna kill me, but it could immobilize me.’”
Mama June knows that it could always be worse, especially after seeing what Anna Cardwell went through. She now has custody of her eldest grandchild, Kaitlyn, and they live with June’s husband, Justin, in a house in Georgia.
A New Season Of Drama
Aside from dealing with her health, Mama June has a whole new season of drama to contend with. Family Crisis is returning this month, and there is a lot to unpack. Pumpkin Efird will introduce her new boyfriend, Darrin Kitchens, who is her ex-husband’s cousin. Fans will also get to see how Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson is progressing in Denver, Colorado. She is studying to be a nurse, while Jessica Shannon is planning her wedding. This is a season not to be missed, but it is unclear if Mama June’s health will come up.
