Masika Kalysha on Monday opened up about her grief after her estranged husband’s death. She’s been transparent about her pain since Jamar Champ passed away in late October following a Houston car crash. In her latest update, Masika shared heartbreaking photos that shows her, her daughters and other loved ones devastated during Jamar’s funeral. After mixed reactions to the raw images, the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ clapped back on Instagram, inviting anyone bothered by her posts to unfollow her!

Funeral Photos Show Masika Kalysha & Daughter Sobbing
Masika shared 21 photos on her Instagram feed, all still images from the day of Jamar Champ’s funeral services. Many show her sobbing, tears striking her makeup both in what looked like the viewing and during transportation that day. Other photos show her hugging her firstborn daughter, Khari Barbie, who was also visibly upset and sobbing. Other guests, who she didn’t name or tag, also appeared in several photos, along with her husband’s memorial services booklet. The photos are likely from earlier this month, according to a separate post that revealed the viewing and celebration of life date as November 8. Champ passed away on October 28 in a wrong-way road accident.
In her post on Monday, Masika Kalysha opened up about dealing with grief, and admitted that Jamar Champ has been on her mind everyday since his death.
“Grief is the loudest silent echo that you will never hear but can’t get out of your head. It’s deafening. It’s like a stab to your heart. It feels like breathing with no lungs,” Masika wrote. “Without your support I don’t know where I would be. I took my vows. Till death do us part… I will carry on your legacy. You will always have a place in my forever broken heart 💔 not one minute of one single day goes by that I don’t think about you.”
Masika Speaks Out After Mixed Reactions To Funeral Post
Within a few hours of sharing the intimate images, Masika Kalysha hopped back online to address mixed reactions. She didn’t hold back, making it clear she’s not taking the public’s advice on how to grieve.
“If you have a problem with ANYTHING I post on MY PAGE involving MY HUSBAND, MY LIFE, MY KIDS, or literally anything I invite you to go fk yourself and unfollow me. I will NOT be explaining myself in any way shape, form or fashion to a single SOUL,” Masika Kalysha wrote on IG Story.
She also thanked her village for sticking by her during this time. “To everyone who has supported me and my kids. I can’t thank you enough. You have carried me on your backs. Please continue to check on us. Just showing up is worth more than gold.”
Jamar Champ Killed In Car Crash
As reported, Jamar Champ died on the scene after a driver in a BMW slammed into his Tesla Cybertruck head on and sent him into an 18-wheeler truck. The other driver was reportedly driving the wrong way, and passed away after his vehicle caught on fire.
Last month, Masika Kalysha admitted to feeling anger at the driver who took her husband’s life. “No matter what you go through with a person, you never want this. You always think you have more time,” is the closest she’s come to explaining their estranged status. They reportedly got married in 2021, but split in 2023, according to a video she shared in December of that year. Jamar is survived by their 3-year-old daughter, Amari.
