Meghan Markle Reportedly Poked Fun At Her Acting Skills

The Duchess of Sussex has been making headlines since rejoining the entertainment industry for a cameo appearance in an upcoming movie. The move has sparked mixed reactions, with royal commentators slamming her decision.

However, a source recently shared a different narrative, describing Meghan Markle as a woman with a “warm” personality who is fun to work with.

According to new reports, Meghan was photographed on the Pasadena, California, set for her new movie on Wednesday, November 5. An insider reflected on her time on the movie sets, noting that she came as herself rather than the Duchess of Sussex.

“She introduced herself as ‘Meghan.’ Everything about her was very sweet and calm,” the insider claimed. “She genuinely seemed excited to be on set. She was joking that she felt a bit rusty, but it was obvious that she had rehearsed.”

The insider told PEOPLE that Meghan exuded “a very warm energy” and was “super pleasant to be around.” Their positive review of the former senior royal’s behavior comes eight years after she stepped back from acting to join the royal family as Prince Harry’s wife.

During her 2017 engagement interview with Prince Harry, Meghan addressed her exit from Hollywood positively. She noted it wasn’t a situation where she was giving something up; instead, she was simply embracing a new chapter of her life.

Meghan reflected on her years-long journey on the legal drama “Suits,” describing herself as fortunate for having a regular role on the hit series. “Once we hit the 100-episode marker, I thought, you know what, I have ticked this box and I feel really proud of the work I’ve done there,” she said.

The media personality echoed similar sentiments in a 2022 interview following her exit from the Royal Family and relocation to the United States.

Meghan stressed that she did not regret stepping back from acting and declared that she was done with that part of her life; however, she did not shut the door entirely on acting again.

Following news of Meghan’s return to acting, The Blast covered royal commentators’ reaction to the former actress’s comeback. Kinsey Schofield, host of “Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered” on YouTube, called out the timing of Meghan’s decision.

Schofield believed her decision must have raised eyebrows within the Royal Family because it coincided with Prince William’s trip to Brazil for the Earthshot Prize. The royal commentator believed she ruffled many feathers with her decision because it was a common practice.

According to Schofield, senior royals have noticed a “pattern of Harry and Meghan retreating from the spotlight for months, only to reemerge during William’s major moments.” Royal expert Hilary Fordwich was equally displeased by Meghan’s comeback.

Fordwich believed UK fans and the Royal Family wouldn’t be interested in Meghan’s return to acting. Instead, the royal expert suspected that senior royals would probably feel relieved the Duchess wasn’t “overtly bashing them,” given her track record.

Fordwich also described Meghan’s acting comeback as a “vanity project,” echoing similar sentiments as fans on social media. The Blast shared that many weren’t excited to see the former actress return to their screens, calling out producers for failing to enlist the right celebrity for the role.

One critic stressed that cameos were for famous, talented, and interesting people, qualities that Meghan allegedly lacked.

Another agreed, noting “a non-working, attention-seeking, grifter Temu royal” was the worst choice for a cameo. A third slammed Meghan as manipulative, claiming she and Harry always tried to one-up Prince William and Kate Middleton.

While royal commentators and critics were displeased by Meghan’s comeback, The Blast reported that her husband had her back. A production insider claimed Harry has been “really supportive” of her return to acting and “wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”

Royal commentator, Schofield, shared similar thoughts about Harry’s possible reaction to the news. Schofield noted that the Duke of Sussex has always gone out of his way to make Meghan happy, but he might be excited for her comeback for a different reason.

“If Meghan is on set, it means she’s not at home filming intimate moments to share on social media,” Schofield said. The royal commentator’s words implied Harry might not be a fan of his wife’s social media updates about their life, given his frequent comments about the need for privacy.
