Meghan Markle’s Return To U.K. Hinges On Guaranteed ‘Armed’ Security

Royal commentators have, however, shared that the Duchess of Sussex would only travel if guaranteed automatic armed security, rather than case-by-case protection under current rules.

While a review of Prince Harry’s security is reportedly underway, experts believe Meghan Markle may still face a cold reception from the royal family upon her return.

Meghan Markle’s UK Visit Uncertain As Security Remains Key Concern

Royal commentators suggest there is only one scenario in which Meghan would consider returning to the UK.

As Harry prepares for a possible visit to Birmingham this summer ahead of the Invictus Games’ one-year countdown, reports indicate he would prefer to have his wife alongside him. However, whether the Duchess of Sussex will make the trip remains uncertain.

According to People magazine, no final plans have been confirmed, and a representative for Archewell dismissed recent speculation about Meghan, telling Fox News Digital that the claims circulating in the media are “entirely speculative.”

Royal analyst and YouTube host Kinsey Schofield, however, believes that Meghan’s presence in the UK hinges entirely on security guarantees.

She argued that Meghan would only return if granted round-the-clock armed protection, rather than security approved on a case-by-case basis.

Harry has repeatedly stated that he is unwilling to bring his wife and children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, into what he perceives as an unsafe environment without sufficient protection.

“If Meghan were to travel to the U.K under the current RAVEC protocol — which requires 30 days’ notice to assess threat levels — I am confident that both Harry and Meghan would receive armed security for an Invictus appearance,” Schofield said.

Under current arrangements set by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC), security decisions are made after advance notice and threat assessments.

Schofield said that if Meghan attended an Invictus-related event under these rules, armed protection would almost certainly be provided.

However, she suggested that renewed media chatter about Meghan’s demand for automatic security may be aimed at pressuring officials to reconsider their original decision.

While Harry typically receives police protection during visits to the U.K., Schofield noted that the couple’s frustration stems from the lack of guaranteed, permanent security.

This, she added, was an outcome clearly communicated when the Sussexes stepped back from their royal duties in 2020.

That policy, however, could soon change. Reports from the Mail on Sunday and People suggest that discussions within the Home Office are underway and that “security is now nailed on for Harry.” A formal review is reportedly in progress.

King Charles May Seek Family Reunion, As Expert Claims The Duke Asked His Father To ‘Open The Invictus Games’

Royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital that these developments may signal a broader effort by King Charles to “unite the family while he has the power and strength to do so.”

Turner noted that “Meghan will want many assurances, especially about how she is treated and how she can bring her own individuality with her.”

He said, “Security is one of the biggest issues. I see encouraging signs that the heated moments of the past have cooled.”

Pelham continued, “I also believe Harry has asked King Charles to open the Invictus Games.”

Despite the possibility of a warm reception from King Charles, several royal observers believe Meghan would face resistance from other members of the royal family.

Schofield suggested that working royals may deliberately avoid any interaction with the Sussexes and that Meghan, in particular, is unlikely to feel welcome.

“I don’t think we would see the working royals even acknowledge their presence,” she said. “The Sussexes’ credibility has been bruised over the last few years, and the royals want to keep their distance.”

“She felt rejected by Harry’s family and country and wants to focus on her U.S. aspirations,” Schofield added.

Meghan Markle Shares Playful Dance Videos And Nostalgic Throwback With Prince Harry

Meanwhile, Meghan has been offering glimpses into her personal life through social media.

On Sunday, January 16, the 44-year-old posted a playful video to her Instagram Stories showing her and Harry dancing outdoors to lively music.

During the clip, the couple laughs and sways together on a grassy lawn. At one point, Meghan jokingly shifts her arm from Harry’s shoulder to rest it over his hand, which had been placed cheekily on her butt.

The day before, Meghan shared another video of her and her husband dancing, this time in black and white. The footage was reportedly captured by their 4-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet.

In the clip, Harry and Meghan spin around together, share a brief kiss, and end the moment with the duke dipping his wife before lifting her.
