Through this outlet, Kelly has often weighed in on various current events. Recently, she reacted to soccer star Megan Rapinoe after she spoke out against a phone call between President Donald Trump and Team USA. This took place after the men’s hockey team took gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Rapinoe reportedly criticized the men for laughing when the president made a joke about the women’s hockey team, who also won gold in Milan. They were reportedly called “clowns” for their behavior and were criticized for allowing Trump to steal attention from the historic win against Canada.
Megan Rapinoe Discussed A Joke Made By President Donald Trump
Rapinoe’s comments were made on her podcast series, A Touch More, which she hosts with her wife, ex-WNBA star Sue Bird. At the time, she shared, “In what I like to call a classic ‘ripping defeat from the jaws of victory,’ the United States men’s hockey team, in their utter moment of glory, childhood dreams come true, sensational, ruined it for themselves.”
Rapinoe continued, “They allowed themselves to be co-opted by a clown. And now you’re a clown. You look like a clown.”
Discussing Trump, Rapinoe brought up his joke that he would risk getting “impeached” if he didn’t invite the women’s team. She continued, “You just accomplished this amazing thing. You just gave this whole moment over to this person who you know is only going to use it for him [sic].”
On her end, Megyn responded, “The nerve of this woman to call these guys clowns. She is jealous. She is full of hatred for anyone who is a white male.”
Kelly continued, speculating that this was only “controversial” because President Trump was involved. She then accused Rapinoe of being jealous of the men’s hockey team, adding, “She wants to take it away from them, and she feels powerless to do it, because she is.” She wrapped up the discussion by saying, “Enjoy your bitter, bitter life.”
