Megyn Kelly recently took to social media to celebrate a milestone with viewers. At the time, she also named some of her competition. That said, some have since questioned a few of Kelly’s claims.
Megyn Kelly Worked For Fox News For Over A Decade Before Launching Podcast
Kelly became known to many for her work with Fox News from 2004 to 2017. During this time, she hosted a number of programs, such as America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer. She also anchored Megyn Kelly Today for NBC.
Currently, Kelly hosts her namesake podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show. Making its debut in 2020, initially as an audio-only series, this series airs daily on SiriusXM, in addition to being released on YouTube.
Taking to X, Kelly thanked her followers for the views she’s gotten on her podcast. As she wrote, “Thank you to our audience for another incredible month on the @MegynKellyShow – we had 138 million views on YouTube in Feb alone.”
Taking it as a milestone of sorts, Kelly highlighted that she surpassed some of her competitors. In the share, she cited Ben Shapiro specifically, as well as a few networks. As she wrote, “That’s twice every show on CBS News combined, 50m more than all of NBC News… and 117m more than Ben Shapiro. Just our one show with its 5 producers.”
Shapiro is a commentator and media host known for co-founding The Daily Wire back in 2015. He is also known for hosting The Ben Shapiro Show, a podcast and radio show. In addition, he previously served as editor-at-large of Breitbart News.
Some Commenters Questioned The Exact Numbers, Highlighting The YouTube Format
Kelly also noted that her reach goes further than that. As she explained, “This isn’t counting our HUGE podcast downloads or other socials. We love our audience & greatly appreciate the support!”
That said, many on social media questioned Kelly’s claims. As many noted, her YouTube channel includes both full episodes as well as clips released as shorts. This, in turn, could drive up the number of overall clicks.

As the comments continued, a few also shared that they watched Ben Shapiro outside of YouTube. Others questioned the importance of focusing too much on views. On the other hand, a few commenters also came to Kelly’s defense. Some comments included:
- “Honestly, not sure about your comparison to Ben Shapiro’s YouTube channel. If I took a sample of 2 full episodes of both your shows over the last week, he gets multiples over you.”
- ‘When you’re on the side of truth, the people know. Congratulations on being genuine, authentic and for not bending the knee.”
- “The reason she gets such high numbers is the clever use of YouTube Shorts. She chops her show into short bits and those count as a view, even if they’re just clicked on for a second.”
- “Authenticity wins every time. Huge congratulations.”
- “I don’t watch Ben on YouTube; I watch from my paid subscription to The Daily Wire.”
- “117 million more than Ben Shapiro is so awesomely catty I laughed.”
